Pearls of Thought

I was browsing my journal and found an advice I wrote for myself.

(May 7, 2011)

People get stuck where they are because they only do what they are good at.

On the other hand, a lot of people go places and become successful simply doing what they are good at.

I guess the key here is excellence. Specialization without excellence is mediocre.

Talent is never enough. Talent that is not developed is merely a potential.

To be successful, your talent should be of service and appreciated by people.

The number of people “touched” by your talent determines how successful you are going to be.

For maximum impact, talent should be duplicated/ multiplied. And that can be achieved through collaboration.

This results to synergy.

Upgrade this synergy to a level of significance and the talent that started as a potential will become a talent that can change the world…

This was written during the time when I thought I can change the world. I still hope to.

Right now, I’m still at the point of changing my world. After that, we’ll see.
